Scrooey-Looey is a glove puppet who lives on the top shelf in the nursery at The Old Vicarage.
The boys are surprised when in the Land of Desire the rabbit walks towards them through icing and calls Alexander an idiot, lunatic, a cretinous lump of lard (for in the Land of Nothingness Alex had wished for a jungle birthday cake not with very happy results).
Scrooey-Looey is greedy, rude, half-mad, but a friend of the boys and not all bad. When in The Creatures of the Forest the boys are imprisoned by goblins he spends his time stuffing himself in the Lettuce Bar (this make the boys really fed up), but he makes so much money gambling he is able to buy the boys at auction. In The Blizzard Wizard he drives the Princess of the Night mad by telling jokes. He sometimes tries to do the right thing but not in the right way, or does the wrong thing and it turns out right. When it comes to good and bad Scrooey-Looey is a bit muddled up, but life with him is not dull and can be fun (provided you do not mind being called an idiot, lunatic, or a cretinous lump of lard).
